April 2011

Hi Everyone,

Firstly a BIG thankyou to those of you who did complete registration & payment quickly. We know this is costly & time consuming but it’s most important to have this done on time as Eurobodalla Football Association (EFA) needs this information ASAP. Otherwise the team grading & setting up of the draw will be held up. I am sure you can appreciate all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes not only by our local club but also by the EFA.

Fees need to be paid on time as they are passed on to; EFA, Council, Southern Branch, FNSW, FFA, Insurance & a small amount is retained by us to cover things such as equipment, uniforms, field setup & end of year presentation. Those of you who have not paid will need to PAY NOW or we will have no choice but not to allow you take the field at your next game, please come see us ASAP. We can be found at the canteen Thursday training afternoon’s 4-5pm, or on a Sunday or please call Amy 44735080.

FUNDRAISING AND SPONSORS NEEDED

If anyone has ideas or can help us with fundraising and gaining sponsors it would be most appreciated as our club is in need of funds.

THANkYOU

A thankyou needs to be extended to Kerrie, Jason and Raymond who did a great job installing VERY HANDY shelves in our canteen and in the equipment store room‘s. Thanks also Kerrie for walking with the children from school- she could do with some help if you can, please join her at Bodalla School Thursday afternoons.

CANTEEN DRAW

ROUND 6 - 29TH MAY= AAM & U6'S (10.30AM- 2.30PM)

ROUND 7- 5TH JUNE= U8'S & U12'S (10.30- 1.30PM)

ROUND 8- 19TH JUNE= AAL (10.30- 3PM)

## Please keep an eye out for the canteen draw as it becomes available as everyone is required to help out just THIS LITTLE BIT.

Canteen;

The Canteen is the place we need you to be, we need everyone’s help. Donna has fantastically agreed to do the ordering & will set up a team roster (please see coach, notice board at oval or website for your teams turn).

This year teams will be rostered to help out in the canteen at home games. It will be the rostered teams’ responsibility to run it on their own. The takings & team sheets will be collected at the end of each day. Your cooperation in helping us run the canteen is always appreciated. This will share the load & allow everyone a chance to watch their own children play.

Our club is a non profit organisation & needs to raise money in order to: save you money on registration fees, help purchase equipment - balls, shirts, nets etc, trophies for presentation day & pays referees fee‘s.

Please talk to your coach/manager & let them know that you are available to help out. Your cooperation in helping us run the canteen is most appreciated. NOTE: Without the income of the canteen the soccer club has no option other than to increase the registrations fees even more substantially.

BBQ
- Our club needs helpers to cook the snags on the BBQ. Just let someone on the committee know you are available or just turn up on the day.

Club Meetings

BODALLA SOCCER CLUB BOARD HAS DECIDED THAT WE REQUIRE ONE REPRESENTATIVE FROM EVERY TEAM TO ATTEND EACH OF OUR MEETING’S

Meetings are now held the 1st Thursday of the month starting 6pm at the oval/ clubhouse. (Unless advertised elsewhere- check our website) All coaches, managers, parents & senior players are very welcome to attend. COACHES, MANAGERS & PARENTS PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING;

Shinpads & soccer boots must be worn at all training & games
. Please ensure you are either early or on time to pick up your children. Committee members/coaches/managers are not responsible for your children after the conclusion of each training.

WET WEATHER

In wet weather you can telephone the coach in the afternoon of training (if necessary) to ask if training will be on (if it is raining at 2.30pm, the school will be notified of cancellation & children sent home on their usual bus). It is your responsibility to let your child know what to do in case it is raining & do not assume there will be someone there to look after them. Thank you in advance for your cooperation which will help keep our children safe.

Uniforms

(Full uniform must be worn at all matches). Shirts are provided by the Club. Some shorts & socks are available at either our canteen or the Bodalla School canteen. We would welcome the donation of second hand items such as shorts, boots, shinpads etc, in order to provide a clothing pool for families. Please give them to Kerrie.

Team Shirts

All players & parents are requested to take their teams’ shirts home for washing on a rotating basis & return them to their coach/manager on the following training day to ensure that those shirts will be available on time for the next competition game. PLAYERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO KEEP SHIRTS FOR THE SEASON.

Competition Games

All the competition games are played on Sundays at the various venues & are only cancelled if the field is unplayable, not because the players may get wet. Normally the cancellation will be announced on the local radio stations as early as possible on the day of the game or contact your team Manager or Coach for information. Players should turn up at least 30-45 minutes before the game to give the coach/manager a chance to form a team, fill in the team sheet, h& out shirts etc.

The competition draw will be provided to coaches at a training session as soon as they become available. Some games may have to be played on Saturdays. Games for Under 6/7/8/9/10 are designed to encourage skill development & team play. There is no point score system & no competition table. Round Robin Days will be held. Half Time Drinks All players should bring their own drinks for the half time refreshment. Dehydration should not be underestimated. To enable coaches to talk to their players & keep them together, all the drinks should be kept in one location.

Setting up of fields for home games

For home games the fields need to be set up before the first games. Setting up starts one hour before the first game. Volunteers are required to put up the nets, flags, goals posts etc. The first teams on MUST help set up the fields & the last teams on MUST take down the nets, flags, goal posts etc. & return these to the clubhouse.

Association Meetings

These meetings are held every last Tuesday of the month at the Moruya Golf Club starting at 7.3Opm. These are attended by representatives of all clubs in the Eurobodalla competition. Any problems players or parents would like to raise with the Association MUST be taken through the Bodalla Club Secretary.
