The Tuross Head Bowling Club has a long history.

It was built up from nothing with the sweat and toil of volunteers and is now
absorbed into the Tuross Head Country Club.

Coming soon to this page will be the history of the Womens's Bowling Club.

If you have any information of photos please contact Carole McNamara who is presently
collating the history of the club,

Our Fundraiser Tickets to win our wonderful quilt are on sale now for a mere $2.00 each and the draw will take place on Mother’s Day, in May 2010 and when the winner is announced, we hope it goes to somebody’s special MUM.

“Behind The Quilt”

It had been a big 2009 for the ladies at Tuross Head Bowling Club and winter had turned on a pretty chilly spell of weather and with it, came an interruption, to our usual social bowls.
In the appropriate role of welfare officer, Doreen Monks suggested, that a good remedy for fighting those winter blues, was to get together and make a quilt!

Doreen who has already made her mark on the quilting world, with several prizes for her work in exhibitions at Darling Harbour, was there to impart her expertise to a few novices and with talent aplenty existing with the twenty two ladies brandishing needle and thread, the quilt squares began to take form.

It is amazing how therapeutic candle wicking is even the… “can’t sew to save herself” publicity officer was in on the act.

Almost twelve months in the making and Doreen’s time and efforts taxed to the absolute limit, it was suggested that we should raffle the quilt and raise a little money, so with that in mind the Quilters Guild were requested to appraise our work.

Nobody expected the Guild to value our quilt, for the staggering sum of $3,500! We all thought we’d done good, obviously the Guild felt we’d done better.

Tickets are on sale now for a mere $2.00 each and the draw will take place on Mother’s Day, in May 2010 and when the winner is announced, we hope it goes to somebody’s special MUM.
