Finals Results for
Tuross Netball Club
Tuross Troopers in
the Senior Level ‘A’ competition won the Grand Final defeating
Narooma 45 to 16. They were undefeated throughout the whole season.
Coach: Luise Clements, Manager: Mark Carradus. Sponsored by Marshall’s
Bus & Coach Service.
Captain Stephanie Watson said after the game:
"Our whole team played really well. Everyone lifted to the occasion
and consolidated the season's efforts.. Shooter Renae Marshall injured
her elbow in a fall during the second quarter of the Grand Final. She
came off the court for the rest of the quarter but was back shooting
for the rest of the game with a bandaged arm, and subsequently went
on to score 20 goals, being ably assisted by Gemima and Melissa. Defenders
Cass and Steph kept the Narooma team to a low score, with the centre
court Lisa. Lenna, Ruby and Tegan working like a well oiled machine
in both defence and feeding the attack."
The core of the team have been together for many years and it was a
deserving result in a well contested game.
Intermediate Division 1 Tuross Tornadoes
"Playing netball was more than just teamwork and passing the ball
and shooting goals, it was about shared friendship, laughter, supporting
each other, discussing pertinent issues at training sessions that were
challenging and important to the girls not necessarily anything to do
with netball. All in all we had a great season. Success is measured
by how much fun the girls had and we had loads!!! I'm very proud of
all the girls and the effort they put in. They did me very proud."

Intermediate Division 2 Tuross TNT

Coach Karen Johnstone said:
"The girls had a fantastic year. They only lost one game, unfortunately
it was the Grand Final. But they have done us proud."
The Tuross TNT were undefeated throughout the whole season. Coach: Karen
Johnstone. Manager: Christine Adams.
"The TNT's had an awesome season and were undefeated until the
grandfinal. Unfortunately they were beaten on the day by the very well
drilled and hungrey St Peters Power Rangers. The girls put in their
best right up to the final hooter and should be very pleased with their
efforts. The team is - Hayley Johnstone, Belinda Kennedy, Hayley Adams,
Jessie Stojanovska, Grace O'Connor, Kelly Sinclair, Chloe Carter, Casey
Dempster and Jasna Kalic"

12's Tuross Tigers
Defeated in the semi final 16-13 by the Black Peppers.
Coach: Ruth Halliday. Manager: Terese Paul.
"The Tigers had a great year starting with four new girls; Brooke,
Maddy, Kim and Jess. They were welcomed by the old 'Tigerlillies"
Meghan, Hayley, Lani, Wendy and Heather. We owe these new girls alot
as we wouldn't have had a team without them! 2010 saw us make it to
the finals and we played our best. Looking forward to 2011 and the graduation
to intermediates!! "

10's Tuross Tim Tams
Lost in the semi
final 11-9 against St Peters Fantails. This game was a 9 all draw at
the end of the game and went into extra time with the Fantails scoring
2 goals for victory. Coaches: Luise Clements; Kate Hines and Janet Muir.
“What a season
for the Tim Tams! Our girls managed a disrupted season with change of
coaches amazingly. They combined beautifully in the Final with all players
showing their strengths. Lead in attack by Emily H, Inneka and Laura
they were assisted with a solid middle by Kara, Emily S, Kodie and Sophie,
with Soraya, Eliza and Molly doing an outstanding job in defence. The
girls took the game into extra time and we have never seen a team come
from the court smiling and excited even though they went down by 2 goals.
We are so proud of our girls and hope that they will all back up next

Netta Team (under 10 years old) - Tuross Tadpoles
the 10 players who ranged from the ages 7-9 only 2 had played netta
before this year. The two who had played before, Courtney and Georgie,
boosted the team with there better understanding of the game. The entire
team where extremely enthusiastic although it was a struggle to get
Ella on the court the first few weeks. She overcame the fear and by
the end of the season didn’t want to leave the role as our main
goal shooter. All the girls showed great improvement from the start
of the season as Kassidy was a standout with her defending skills. It
was a pleasure to pass on my netball knowledge to a young team of girls
who all have potential to become another Tuross success."-
