The objects of the
Tuross Head Progress Association (Incorporated) are the general
progress of the township and the provision of facilities and support
for sporting and recreational activities.
The Association is dedicated
to helping to develop a cohesive community with a developed sense
of identity and purpose and providing an environment which promotes
growth, self-worth and social development.
The Association:
Assists with the provision and maintenance of amenities for the
residents of the area,
Seeks to integrate the natural environment with the human environment,
Encourages membership and involvement in the association by publicising
the aims, objectives and achievements of the Association,
Makes representations on behalf of residents as approved by a meeting
of the Association, and
Operates as a non-profit making body.
The Association is made
up of residents and / or ratepayers of the locality of Tuross Head
who have paid the relevant membership subscription as prescribed
by the Annual General Meeting of the Association
The Association is managed
by an Executive Committee consisting of President, Senior Vice-President,
Junior Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, which is elected at
the Annual General Meeting and normally remains in office until
the following Annual General Meeting.
Ordinary general meetings
of the Association are held once each second month, nominally on
the first Thursday of that month.
There are a minimum of six ordinary general meetings per year. Special
general meetings of the Association are also held on specific occasions.
Executive Committee meetings
are held as determined by the President and the Secretary.
The Annual General Meeting
is normally held on the first Thursday in October of each Year
The business of the Annual
General Meeting is:
To receive the President’s
Report,
To receive the Treasurer's Report and audited financial statement
for the previous financial year.
To elect the Executive Committee, and
To conduct any other business placed on the circulated agenda.
